A mother, artist and activist, Victoria Canby is a long time Marin County resident. Victoria received a Bachelors in Art History from Sonoma State, a Masters in Humanities from Dominican University and their certification in Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Art. They studied permaculture at the Regenerative

Design Institute in Bolinas and studied herbalism for two years at Gathering Thyme in Petaluma. Their diverse educational background impacts their artwork and activism. 

Victoria is deeply passionate about education and creating educational curriculum to engage students in arts, culture and history. Over the last 25 years they have worked in a wide range of educational settings including after-schools, preschools, summer programs and leading workshops focused on topics such as the Civil Rights Movement and Indigenous studies.

 Victoria is an active member of the local Indigenous community. As an educational consultant for the Alliance for Felix Cove, they are continually creating curriculum to share with Indigenous youth as they explore and learn about Pt. Reyes National Seashore. They often can be found at home in their garden with their son and partner, enjoying the microclimates of the homestead their family has lived in for almost 100 years.
