MJJDPC

On this week’s show, join Anali Reyes, Santy Hernandez, and Javier Vicuna, to talk with a special guest, Alexa Davidson.

Alexa Davidson works for Marin’s Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission. She will be talking about what she does at her work and what youth can do to participate in the commission.

The commission allows at least two youth to participate and they have different agendas for every meeting. She will be explaining more what youth can do, such as help conduct inspections.

Every other meeting they have a guest speaker from the community to inform them. JJDPC is trying to remove the barrier that there is between youth and adults and they want youth to engage. It is up to the youth to tell the adults what they want so there can be better communication between them both.

If you are a youth who is interested in public policies, or interested in the juvenile system, this would be a great experience and opportunity to open more doors. On the show, Alexa Davidson will mention how the process will be to become a youth commissioner.

If you guys have any topics that you would like us to discuss, let us know.
