Latino Street Vendors

On this week’s show, join Emmily Romero, Santy Hernandez, and Anali Reyes to talk about what is happening to Latino vendors, what are our thoughts, and how we can help each other as a community.

We upload on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/tayradiomarin/) every Friday at 3 pm. We also go live on KWMR every Friday at 4-4:30 pm. There are 3 signals: 89.9 in Bolinas, 90.5 in Pt. Reyes, and 92.3 in San Geronimo. You can also follow us on Instagram (@tayradiomarin) for updates.

During these past few weeks, we have seen all over the media that there have been Latino street vendors being attacked and being robbed. This is a serious topic that we want to express to our youth audience. We have seen videos where young people have been bothering street Latino vendors for no reason. We strongly believe that people should treat each other as they would like to be treated.

One of the Latino ice cream vendors, Adelaido Bernabe, a 68-year-old man, was robbed and shot and unfortunately died on July 1st. We want to give our condolences to all the families who lost a family member who work hard as a Latino street vendor.

We also want to share how significant street vendors are for many of us because they have brought many cheerful memories into our childhood. In addition, we want to recognize all the hard work that these Latino street vendors are doing right now to help out their families.

There is a lot more we will talk about, we will see you at our next show, Friday afternoon!

If you guys have any topics that you would like us to discuss let us know.
