Gaby was born in Guatemala. At the age of 13, she immigrated to the United States. Since a young age, she has strived to give a voice to the voiceless and equity to all. The challenges she has faced learning a new culture, language, and life taught her to always be ready to lend her voice. Against all odds, with the help of her community, she graduated from high school and attended college. Through both her high school and college career, she always sought to help any community she inhabited, especially serving as a volunteer translator in Marin schools and in the city of Waltham, MA.
She graduated with a BA degree in Anthropology, Psychology, and Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Brandeis University. She is deeply committed to increasing equity in the education and criminal justice systems. At the Multicultural Center of Marin, she hopes to continue to uplift her community and lend her voice.
